Introspection 2018
Afterlife Maya Azul Following 2018 I had debris, aimless thoughts and memories sitting around like shoes at the door all waiting for the next time they leave the house eager too stroll. But the harsh reality is they are left over, leftovers from Christmas and the whole year prior. 2018 hung around looming like Myrtle or some shit from Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets bathroom scene , whining and annoying. I began to let it surface. Shortly into the 2019 season I went on a small trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Prior to beginning the body of work not knowing what it was going to give me. Also with very little direction other than the backgrounds be black. There are a total of 11 paintings 7 of which are on wood planks and 4 on Canvas, all pieces are ready to hang with the exception of Afterlife .
